Preparing the Size 2 and 3 Rifton Standers for a Supine Transfer
In this video, Michelle demonstrates how to prepare Size 2 & 3 Rifton Standers for a supine transfer and the critical straps necessary for patient safety.
Transcript
For supine transfers, begin by positioning the Stander horizontally. Measure the patient from hip to knee. Set thigh length. Measure the patient from knee to heel. Set lower leg length. Set hip flexion, knee flexion, and hip depth.
Swing away laterals to prepare for transfer. Perform a lateral transfer. Position the patient’s hips at the marker, lie the patient back and then position the straps. The critical straps on the supine stander are the trunk strap, the hip strap, the knee straps, and the ankle straps.
Engage the lateral supports. Hips can be abducted independently. Ankles can be adjusted for dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, inversion and eversion, and for foot depth.
Position the stander to the desired height and angle. Headrest depth can be adjusted. Trunk height can be adjusted. Attach the tray. Adjust tray height and angle.
