This split knee support provides more precise and secure positioning and can be used for supine standing in place of the soft knee straps. Users with high tone and contractures may require the split knee support, which stabilizes above and below the patella, while also providing medial and lateral support. Along with the increased adjustability, the additional comfort and security provided by the split knee support will meet a wider variety of positioning needs. The support adjusts in depth and angle to achieve the perfect fit, flips to the side during transfers, and locks into position with a secure click.
How to Mount and Adjust Split Knee Supports for Your Size 2 and 3 Supine Standers
In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to mount and adjust the split knee supports for your stander. Follow these simple instructions to ensure a secure and comfortable fit:
- Mounting the Supports:
- Remove the mounting knob and bolt.
- Hook the keyhole of the split knee accessory over the knee stud on the lateral side of the leg.
- Click it down onto the stud.
- Slide the mounting bolt through the angle slot and secure the knob.
- Repeat for the opposite leg.
- Adjusting Depth and Angle:
- To adjust depth, loosen the top knob and slide the assembly forward or back.
- To adjust angle, loosen the mounting knob and tip the support up or down.
- For Transfers:
- Leave the split knee assembly attached to the leg.
- Use the white trigger to flip the knee support to the side for transfers.
- Flip the support back into position until it locks with a click.
- For Standing:
- Position the padded hoops above and below the user’s patella.
- Adjust the depth inward until the support holds the user’s leg snugly.
- Ensure all knobs are tight.

The pair of split knee supports ship detached from the Stander. To mount each support to the product, undo and completely remove the mounting knob and bolt. Hook the keyhole of the split knee accessory over the knee stud on the lateral side of the leg and click it down onto the stud. Reach behind the leg and slide the mount bolt through the angle slot and secure the knob. Repeat for the opposite leg.
To adjust the depth of the support, loosen the top knob and slide the assembly forward or back. To adjust the angle, loosen the mounting knob and tip the support up or down.
For transfers, leave the split knee assembly attached to the leg and use the white trigger to flip the knee support to the side. For use, flip the support back into position until it locks with a secure click.
For use in standing, position the padded hoops above and below the user’s patella and adjust the depth inward – until the support holds the user’s legs snugly between the padded hoops and the leg support. Be sure to check that all knobs are tight.
